Protein synthesis is an essential cellular process. The regulation of gene expression at this level is fundamental for normal cellular processes to occur. It is not surprising then, that this process is regulated by a myriad of mechanisms - IRES, 5′ UTR elements, 3′UTR elements, miRNAs, post-translational modification of initiation factors  - just to name a few.

Our interests encompass these and other different types of translational regulation, and we hope to uncover their importance in various vital cellular processes. Take a closer look at our research to find out more about what we do.
